Case study

Viasat History

One channel site localised into around 13 Central and Eastern European markets, with automated translation and market-specific URLs.

Viasat History serves viewers in around 13 Central and Eastern European markets, each in their own language. On Viasat World’s shared platform, this site carries the localisation story: one channel, presented natively everywhere it broadcasts.

What we did

  • Localised the site into each market with automated translation feeding human-editable content
  • Built market-specific URLs so every locale has its own indexable presence
  • Implemented multi-locale schema and search optimisation, market by market
  • Keep every locale’s schedules and programme pages in sync from the broadcast feeds

The result

A Polish viewer, a Czech viewer and a Romanian viewer each get a site that reads as their own, and search engines in each market treat it as local. That is the difference between translated and localised.
