Viasat Explore runs on Viasat World’s shared platform, and it shows off the machinery we are proudest of: the broadcast data pipeline. Each channel airs different programmes at different times across a dozen or more markets, and keeping that accurate by hand simply is not possible.
What we did
- Developed custom plugins that ingest Viasat’s broadcast data feeds directly
- Series pages, episode guides and live TV schedules generate and update themselves
- Built “New This Month” highlights that refresh from the schedule automatically
- Left editors in control: automated content can always be overridden by hand
The result
Schedules stay accurate in every market without anyone updating a page, and the editorial team spends its time on stories rather than timetables.
